Video Thumbnails Automatic Generator for PSP.
Pros: PSP Falcon creates all the missing thumbnails on your PSP device. It provides the simplest way to transfer mp4 files to the PSP, and generate thumbnails for the videos. Its Windows shell integration and the integrated optimized codecs creates the best possible experience. PSP firmware needs to be upgraded to version 3.30 or later for this application to produce the desired results.
There are two modes of operations, one is “Autogenerate” where this application will automatically generate the missing thumbnails of the videos stored on the PSP device. Just one click on the button will create the thumbnails on the PSP connected to the PC, the application checks to make sure one is connected. In the first mode just one click fixes all the thumbnail pictures on the PSP. Thumbnails that get generated are for the right aspect ratio as with the original videos. The images are never squashed or stretched. This is true in the second mode too.
The second mode is for transferring videos. When the desired videos, in right format, are transferred the application creates the thumbnails to go with those. Optimized MPEG4, H.264 or the AVC codec is used to generate the videos. Just select one or more mp4/m4v files you want to transfer. The falcon can do the transfer in batch mode. Really useful when there are a lot of videos available on the machine downloaded from sources like YouTube or the iTunes etc.
Transfer function is integrated into the Windows shell functions so that from the windows explorer one can send the files to the PDP by simple right clicks.
Cons: Likely problems can only come up after one tries a lot of types of video transfer after the files have gone through some format conversion. This is when artifacts come up. One need to check with users to find if there are problems found.
Overall: An overall very good rating of 3 stars is assigned to the application.
